WWE Crown Jewel is moving. The November 7 premium live event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, will no longer take place at the temporary Riyadh Season Stadium at KAFD, after Riyadh Season confirmed a venue change on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, amid concerns about attacks in the region. The show itself is not cancelled: Riyadh Season said the event will still take place, that all ticket holders will receive a full refund, and that tickets will be re-released to everyone within the next 48 hours.

The announcement is the most concrete sign yet that security fears are reshaping one of WWE's biggest international shows, just ten days before it is due to air. It follows weeks of warnings, a United States government order for non-emergency personnel to leave Saudi Arabia, the postponement of a major tennis event, and public debate among wrestling fans and Middle East experts about whether WWE should stage a major event in the region at all. For now, the company has said the show goes on — just not where fans originally bought tickets for.

Key Points

• WWE Crown Jewel 2026 is moving to a new venue, Riyadh Season confirmed on Wednesday, October 28, 2026; the event is still scheduled for Saturday, November 7.
• All ticket holders will receive a full refund, and tickets will be re-released to everyone within the next 48 hours, according to the Riyadh Season statement.
• The original venue was the temporary Riyadh Season Stadium at KAFD in Riyadh; PWInsider reported the event will still be in Riyadh, just in a different location in the city.
• The move follows attacks on Saudi locations, including strikes at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, and a United States travel advisory urging Americans to reconsider travel to Saudi Arabia.
• The announced card is unchanged so far: Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn, Liv Morgan vs. Chelsea Green, Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton, and a World Tag Team Championship match.

What Happened

Riyadh Season, the Saudi entertainment festival that hosts the event, announced the change in a short statement carried by USA TODAY on October 28. "We would like to inform you that WWE Crown Jewel has been moved to a new venue," the statement said. "All ticket holders will receive a full refund, and tickets will be re-released to everyone within the next 48 hours."

What the statement did not say is just as important for fans trying to plan a trip. It did not specify whether Crown Jewel will take place in a different city in Saudi Arabia or be held outside the country altogether. It did not name the new venue, and it did not say whether the refund-and-re-release process gives existing ticket holders any priority when the new tickets go on sale. USA TODAY Sports said it has contacted WWE for more information.

PWInsider, the wrestling news site, reported that the event will still be in Riyadh, just in a different location in the city. If that report holds, it would narrow the uncertainty considerably: fans would still travel to the same city, but to a different building. WWE has held events in other venues within Riyadh, including the Mohammed Abdo Arena, Kingdom Arena and King Fahd Sports City Stadium, all of which USA TODAY named as possibilities in its coverage of the move.

The timing adds a practical complication. Construction had already begun at the original site. Reports earlier in the week said crews were building the temporary outdoor venue at Riyadh Season Stadium, with seating areas and a massive stage going up, and fan footage shared on social media showed work in full swing. A venue change ten days out means that work, in whole or in part, has to be abandoned or moved, and a new site has to be made ready for a televised premium live event with a large live crowd.

For American viewers, the broadcast plan reported before the move remains the reference point: Crown Jewel is listed for 12 p.m. ET / 9 a.m. PT on Saturday, November 7, streaming on ESPN Unlimited in the United States and on Netflix internationally. No change to the date or the broadcast time has been announced alongside the venue move.

Background: Why WWE Is Moving Crown Jewel

The move comes as Saudi Arabian locations have been targeted in a conflict between Saudis and Iran-aligned Houthis from nearby Yemen, USA TODAY reported. The latest attacks include a series of strikes at King Khalid International Airport in the capital city of Riyadh, which have resulted in deaths. Riyadh is the city WWE was set to host Crown Jewel in, and the airport is the gateway most international visitors would use.

Reporting on the airport attacks describes a Houthi claim of targeting King Khalid Airport as well as energy infrastructure, refineries and other aviation and military facilities across Saudi Arabia, while the Saudi-led coalition said its air defences intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched toward Riyadh. The United States Mission in Saudi Arabia warned that the cross-border hostilities pose a high risk of broader regional escalation, and said Iranian-supported Houthis had engaged in hostilities against Saudi Arabia, including attacks on civilian airports and other critical infrastructure resulting in civilian casualties and severe travel disruptions.

The security picture has already changed official travel guidance. The attacks led the United States State Department to issue travel advisories for the country, encouraging people to reconsider travel, and the United States Embassy is encouraging American citizens in the region "to exercise heightened vigilance." In late October, the State Department ordered non-emergency United States government employees and their family members in Saudi Arabia to depart, citing safety risks. The United States Mission's notice put the effective date of that order at October 23, 2026, and said American government employees require special authorisation to use Saudi airports, including King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and the airports in Jeddah and Dammam.

WWE is not the first major event to be affected. The "Six Kings Slam" tennis tournament, originally scheduled for October and featuring Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic, was postponed to December 27-30 "following an assessment of the organizational and logistical challenges," USA TODAY reported. That postponement, like the Crown Jewel venue move, shows organisers choosing disruption over pressing ahead exactly as planned while the security situation remains unsettled.

The safety of the region has led Middle East experts and many wrestling fans to call on WWE to reconsider hosting a major event in the region, USA TODAY reported. The argument is not only about the arena itself: a premium live event brings wrestlers, production crews, media and thousands of travelling fans through airports, hotels and city streets, all of which become part of the risk calculation when airports themselves have been targeted.

WWE Crown Jewel: The Card So Far

Nothing in the Riyadh Season statement suggested the matches themselves would change, and the card advertised before the venue move still stands as the line-up fans are expecting on November 7. The headline match pits World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns against WWE Champion Sami Zayn for the Men's Crown Jewel Championship. The women's equivalent sees Women's World Champion Liv Morgan face WWE Women's Champion Chelsea Green for the Women's Crown Jewel Championship.

The third announced match is a grudge contest with a long history behind it: Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing match. Rhodes has been seeking revenge on Orton, and the stipulation — where a wrestler must be unable to answer a ten-count to lose — is designed to settle a rivalry that cannot be settled by an ordinary pinfall. The fourth announced match is for the World Tag Team Championships, with Bron Breakker and Austin Theory of The Vision defending against Penta and Je'Von Evans, a match added on the October 26 episode of Raw after The Vision attacked both challengers.

One further match has been teased but not made official. Promotional material featuring Gunther and Finn Balor has gone up at one of the gates at Riyadh Season Stadium at KAFD, and the bout has been teased on WWE television over recent weeks, according to eWrestlingNews. WWE has not yet made that match official, and local advertising is always subject to change — a caution that matters even more now that the venue itself has changed.

The card matters to the venue question because it explains why a straight cancellation would be costly. Crown Jewel is built around champion-versus-champion matches that can only happen when both title holders are in the same building, plus a long-running Rhodes-Orton rivalry reaching a stipulation blow-off. Moving the show preserves those matches; cancelling it would leave them without a stage.

Reactions: Contingency Plans, Warnings and Fan Pressure

Ari Emanuel, chief executive of WWE's parent company, TKO Group Holdings, addressed the situation publicly on October 22, telling Fox News that the company has contingency plans in place as it handles "daily monitoring" of the situation. "We have a whole team kind of working on this, and if that doesn't happen, where we can move it," he said. The October 28 venue move looks, in that light, like one of those contingency plans being put into action rather than a last-minute improvisation.

That framing has not silenced criticism. One wrestling commentator, writing before the move, argued that TKO executive chairman Ari Emanuel should travel with the crew, stay in the same hotel and sit in the front row at the host venue — a pointed way of saying that executives should share the risk they are asking performers and fans to take. Fans online have echoed that sentiment, questioning whether any venue in Riyadh can be treated as safe while airports in the same city have been attacked.

Others point the other way: that moving within Riyadh, if that is what happens, is a proportionate response, that Saudi air defences have intercepted incoming missiles, and that abandoning the event entirely would punish fans, wrestlers and local staff who have prepared for months. The refund-and-re-release approach also gives fans a choice that a straight venue switch would not: anyone uncomfortable with the new plan can take the refund and watch from home on ESPN Unlimited or Netflix.

WWE itself has not, at the time of the USA TODAY report, issued a separate detailed statement beyond the Riyadh Season announcement, and USA TODAY Sports said it has contacted the company for more information. What WWE says next — the new venue, the ticket process, and any travel guidance for its own crew — will determine whether the move calms the debate or intensifies it.

Why It Matters

Crown Jewel matters beyond one night of wrestling because it is a test of how major entertainment companies operate in a region where the security situation can change in days. A decade ago, a venue change ten days before a premium live event would have been a logistical story. In October 2026, with United States government personnel ordered out of Saudi Arabia and airports under attack, it is a story about risk, duty of care and the limits of contingency planning.

It also matters for what comes next. Riyadh is where WrestleMania 43, the biggest wrestling event in the world, is scheduled to take place in April 2027. No official venue or date has been announced yet for that show, USA TODAY noted. How WWE handles Crown Jewel — the venue it chooses, the safety measures it puts in place, and whether the event passes without incident — will shape confidence, and scrutiny, around WrestleMania 43 in the same city.

For the wider entertainment industry, Crown Jewel joins the Six Kings Slam postponement as a case study: when governments issue "reconsider travel" advisories and order their own personnel out, private organisers face pressure from fans, insurers, broadcasters and performers all at once. The refund-first approach Riyadh Season has taken — money back for everyone, then a fresh sale — is one way of sharing that pressure with the audience rather than deciding for them.

What Happens Next

The immediate next steps are clear, even if the new venue is not. Within 48 hours of the October 28 announcement, tickets are due to be re-released, which means fans should learn the new venue, the new seating plan and the purchase process very quickly. WWE is also expected to confirm whether the broadcast time and the announced card are unchanged, and whether the teased Gunther vs. Finn Balor match joins the official line-up.

Beyond that, attention turns to the final week of preparation: whether the new venue can be dressed and tested in time, whether travelling fans rebook, and whether the security situation in Riyadh stabilises or worsens before November 7. Any further attack on Riyadh infrastructure, any change in United States travel guidance, or any statement from WWE itself could shift the picture again — and, given how quickly this story moved from construction footage to a venue change, another update before November 7 would surprise no one.

For now, the facts fans can act on are simple: Crown Jewel is still on for November 7, it is no longer at Riyadh Season Stadium at KAFD, existing tickets are being refunded in full, and new tickets are coming within 48 hours. Everything else — the new building, the final card, and the wider question of whether the show should be in Riyadh at all — is still to be confirmed.
